On behalf of the Committee and coaches of the Ormond AFC, I am pleased to announce Boyd Upstill as the new Club Captain, and Benjamin Hardwick as the U19s Captain. Both players have long associations with Ormond after starting their playing careers with the junior club, and are loyal, committed and proud clubmen.
Boyd has been an outstanding clubman since first pulling on a brown and blue jumper in 1996 for the U13s. He is an Ormond premiership player (Reserves 2007, Seniors 2008) who played his first senior game in 2001, and 163 senior games later is immensely proud to be named captain of the Club. Boyd is a versatile Utility player who is tipped to play as a forward this season.
Boyd will be supported by the following players, and the Club also congratulates these players on their selection.

Outstanding servant of the Ormond AFC, Andrew Clinch, will be the Reserves Captain in 2015. Congratulations ‘Clinchy’ – all of your teammates enjoy nothing more than running out to battle with you leading the way.
BJ Hardwick commenced his career with the Ormond juniors in 2005 in the U11s. Since that time he has gained the respect of his team mates for his courage and fearless playing style. BJ enjoyed premiership success in 2014 with the U17s, as well as topping the team’s best and fairest count.
“My leadership style is to lead by example, and to be fully approachable to my team mates” said BJ on being informed of his captaincy. “But I play to win, and will expect myself and my team mates to do whatever it takes to win each match. I want this team to go one better in 2015 after losing the Grand Final last year, and I am confident we can do it”.
