Life Membership – Dave Robbins
Congratulations to Dave Robbins who was awarded Life Membership of the Ormond Amateur Football Club at the Club’s Presentation Function in September. It was fantastic that many of Dave’s family and friends were in attendance, as well as more than 80 players and supporters.
‘Digs’ Keleher spoke of the great clubman that Robbo is, and also shared some his memories of Robbo both as a player and a longtime friend.
Dave Robbins commenced his football with the U11s at the Ormond Blues Junior Football Club. He played in all under age teams with the Juniors before joining the Senior club in the U19s in 1998. Robbo has played 190 games for the Ormond Amateur Football Club, and was a member of the senior leadership group, as Vice Captain, for 4 years and won the Club’s Senior Best and Fairest award in 2003 and was a member of the 2008 Senior Premiership team.
Dave served on the OAFC Committee for four years and coached the U19s in 2013 and 2014. He returned to playing this season showing he has not lost any of that natural ability he possessed in his younger years, and is now a two-time premiership player for Ormond, being a member of the 2015 Reserves Premiership team.
Congratulations, again, Dave, from all of your friends at the Ormond AFC.
