The new electronic scoreboard at EE Gunn Reserve was officially launched during the President’s Lunch held on 18 April (Round 2).
Representatives from the two main scoreboard sponsors were present – the Ormond-McKinnon Community Bank ($10,000) and the City of Glen Eira ($7,500), and 16 of the 58 individual donors who contributed to the funding of our new scoreboard were also in attendance. Also present were Bruce & Guy Ritchie, who donated all services associated with the electrical connections for the scoreboard.
The project was a joint initiative of the Ormond AFC, the Ormond Junior FC and the Ormond Cricket Club. Each club president was on hand to accept a new commemorative sign, which lists all sponsors and donors; (from L to R) Brian Ambler (OCC), Michael Urban (OJFC) and Richard Simon (OAFC). The sign will be permanently displayed inside the front door of the pavilion.
The players and supporters of each club sincerely thank all people who contributed funds and services towards the scoreboard, which will change forever the spectacle of sport at the reserve.
