What an absolute thrill and honour for Frank Stringer to be awarded a Certificate of Merit from the VAFA. The award recognises continuous service by Frank since 1978 in a number of varied but critical roles, including Interchange Steward for the past 37 years, a role he still continues today.
Frank was presented his Certificate at the VAFA 2015 Season Launch held 25 March in the MCC Members’ Dining Room at the MCG. It was fantastic and appropriate that his wife, Barbara, was also able to attend given her support for Frank’s involvement with Club activities most Thursday evenings and Saturdays each season for over 35 years. The Certificate of Merit is the highest individual award that can be bestowed on a volunteer from a club by the VAFA.
Frank joined the Club’s Committee in 1984 and served for 30 consecutive years. He was also an Executive Committee member for 10 years. As well as his interchange steward role on Saturdays, he is regularly seen behind the Bar after games, and helping to prepare the players’ and supporters’ meals on Thursday evenings.
Frank is an integral part of the Ormond Amateur Football Club, and is highly respected by all at the Club and the wider VAFA community. He is a Life Member of the Ormond AFC.
From all of your Monders’ friends and supporters, Frank – well done!
